Overview

DPB/DGE's off-site storage system, located at the Department of Embryology, stores regularly updated copies of DPB/DGE scientific and operational data in case of disaster.  Some types of disasters that the system can protect against include:

  • Catastrophic Hardware Failure
    • Multiple Simultaneous Disk Failure
    • Catastrophic Data Corruption
    • Internal Electrical Short
    • Power Surge (Lightning)
  • Local/Regional Environmental Disaster
    • Fire
    • Flood
    • Earthquake
    • Tsunami
    • Volcanic Eruption

Our disaster recovery system can not protect against continental nor global scale disasters.
